Servicing your stove regularly is advised by all manufacturers, regulatory and advisory bodies, yet it is often overlooked until something breaks or fails.

As well as getting your stove and chimney swept each year, you should also consider a regular inspection of your appliance to keep things safe and running efficiently. 

Regular burning of your stove over time causes pipe seals to move (due to expansion and contraction) and parts to wear. Seals around doors and glass also compress and lose their elasticity over time. This can cause the stove to over-fire and burn fuel at an increased rate. Over-firing can damage the life span of internal components.

We can inspect the condition of door, glass and pipe seals, asses the condition of internal parts and undertake a smoke and flue draft test (subject to a suitable test point). 

We will also make sure that:

• the chimney/flue is working correctly
• the hearth is in good condition 
• there is a suitable air supply and
• the Carbon Monoxide detector is positioned and functioning correctly
